Summer Reading challenge

The library ladies from Croxley Green came to assembly to tell us about the summer reading challenge. The challenge is to read 6 books over the school holidays.  You get smelly stickers to add to your wallet to help solve the mystery of the animal agents. Children who complete the challenge will receive a wristband and get invited to a presentation ceremony where you will get a medal.

Have you got a library card? The library service is free to join and it allows you to use all the libraries across Hertfordshire.

Easter Assembly

Willows Farm Trip

We had lots of fun on our trip to Willows Farm. We saw the animals and fed some of them, we saw tiny lambs and newborn piglets. We held guinea pigs, watched a show and played in the Peter Rabbit playground. Many thanks to all the adults who kindly came with us.

Book Week fun

This week we have read lots of stories. We had a shared reading session with year 3, had visits from surprise readers, dressed up as our favourite book characters and even made a witch’s brew following a recipe (Room on the Broom). Well done to Eddie Hall who won the Nursery dressing up competition as Mr Bump. All the children looked amazing – what a lot of fabulous costumes.

More book week activities

Shared reading with year 3 and a story from Poppy’s Granny.

Book Week

We are reading stories by Julia Donaldson this week. We have made our own Gruffalo faces, Gruffalo biscuits, Gruffalo crumble, maps of the deep dark wood and more. Many thanks to our secret readers who have really entertained the children.
